After completing the engine rebuild on my 400four, I put the wrong bottom engine mounting bolts in.  One is 2mm shorter so it doesn't punch a hole through to the oil gallery.

just as well there were no empty skips handy.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

And I'm peed off because I have to do my carbs yet again, not sure what I'd do if the engine had to come out again. Take a short break then come back to it fresh. You can thank Honda's designers for the engine having to come outyet  again. Keep at it though you'll get there in the end. Good luck. :(

Aye, sod's law strikes again

What a pain, but it will be worth it in the end, at least it should not take too long as you have the technique fresh in your mind, just think of all those miles you can enjoy after it's finished

Cheers

Just beware regarding the old tax disc. A few people have been done by the bobbies for displaying an out of date disc. Even though we are electronic now.

Bike looks great  8)
You wont find a disk on my bikes they soon came off.
There is an out of date disk in my truck I was pulled by VOSA not to long ago and they never mentioned it.

They would have to be a right jobsworth to bother with that, it's not as if I forgot to re-tax it 42 years ago.

The cops are over reaching with that one, the offence was never Displaying an out of date tax disc but rather Failing to display a current road fund licence.
They're just being overly annoying.  That so called offence would be laughed out of court.

I think that's probably an urban myth. Do you have any actual evidence that this happened?

I have a family member who is a copper in S London. She laughed when I suggested that they'd pull someone for displaying a 1972 tax disc.
