Cb650 Custom carb fault?

Iv got a honda cb 650 custom 1981its all been striped and rebuilt it sparks and iv had it running on two pots 2and3 1and4 run intermitent only when you open throtle carbs have been refurbished wen i bought it can any one throw some light on my probs thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If 2/3 fire OK and 1/4 don't, then you have an ignition problem as these cylinders are fired from the same circuit.

Start with the 1/4 timing (don't forget to swap the condensors as they do fail)
Trace the wiring to the ignition coils
Test the coils (try swapping them over)

My good lady's 650 shitehawk, sorry, nighthawk had the same thing, but only occasionally happened when turning the bars full lock to the right. After much cursing and trial and error I found a dodgy connection in the headlight was responsible. Why the coil wires were put in the headlight beggars belief, but as Steve said, it's an ignition related fault. Follow the wiring from the coils upwards, checking cleanliness and security of the connections, and looking for external damage to the wiring.
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

Thanks 4 the help im in sheffield, ignition seems to be all ok ive swapped coils theyre sound, altemeter reads 28. But theres pipes coming off vaccum valve just hanging down and we have no idea where they go. Any ideas?

I got carb probs some times getting fuel some times not. how importent is vacume on carbs theres 4
