Honda C72/C77 silencers
« on: June 03, 2015, 11:04:34 AM »
David Silver is now producing silencers for CB72/77s at £350 a pair which is a great price. I asked them if they were going to do the same for C72/77s but the answer was that there was no demand. I'm going to do all I can to gauge what the demand would be worldwide so all contributions in spreading the word and posting any info to this forum would be welcome.

Have you posted this on Hondatwins.net?

I have also asked DS if he will ever produce CD175A sloper silencers but I got the same response.

My philosophy on Honda's ...find the new or NOS genuine silencers first  ...then buy the bike ! The silencer is probably better than money in the bank anyway

I would agree Ash, but some projects come along that you would like to do. I also asked DS concerning a CD175A repo exhaust... but no demand was the answer. Hope to fire up at the weekend, less the exhausts...Alan

There are replica silencers available in the Far East. Listed on ebay USA, you need to put Honda C77 muffler in the search box, several sellers are listing them. One listing number is 171783300367. If you just put the number into the search box up they will come

I obtained a pair of replica ones for a CB160 for the same suppler for a friend, they were not as original but they fitted OK and looked quite similar to original. The chrome was good. Subsequently the friend bought another pair for a second CB160 he was restoring. Seem to remember the total cost with shipping was about £150 and it took 10 days for them to arrive.

Just might be an option to consider if you have not already done so.

Thank you for the tip. I had a look at some pipes from a Far East vendor on
ebay (bbk-classicbike) but was unsure of the fitting/bracket arrangements. Anyhow will have a look at the C77 option

I want ones that look like CA77 silencers. The ones from Thailand look nothing like.

I would agree, the ones that I have ordered are not exactly like the CD175A 'sloper' but for £135.00 it helps to move the project on

The C77 pipes from Thailand don't look anything like the originals but they do fit (so I'm told). if you want something that looks original there's the guy in Australia and someone in the US but they will cost you both arms and a leg

Well You do get em... ..  from the Land of the Rising Yen ... pricey though!

http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d169245737

You just need a nice 75 year old lady  to bring em back in her luggage .. like a certain member on here did  with a tank, front & Rear mudguards, clocks,tail-lamp and seat etc. !! :D With a little note in her handbag saying 'the parts in the suitcase are scrap parts for a motorcycle I am restoring in the UK'. you even get passenger assistance and all that, to carry em out of the airport if you are canny!
