Spoke Nipples
« on: June 04, 2015, 09:24:47 AM »
Question from me on HondaTwins.net site:  Any comments on here about this? Trigger ? Bryan? Oddjob?  Etc.

"Some of my original Honda  spoke nipples have thin dished washers under them and some don't. Difficult as Honda don't seem to list a separate nipple part number".

Ash (UK)

Reply from another HondATwins member:

"The domed washers are often used to allow a slightly larger hole diameter for the spoke.... (to correct for slight differences in hub diameter or hole's drilled angle for instance.....) ...
They also act as a "thrust" or bearing washer simplifying accurate tightening of the nipples...."

I have seen them, not often or regularly and absolutely no idea why they are there. You could try asking central wheel but only if the owner from 20 yr ago has retired!!
