Footpeg vibes
« on: July 26, 2015, 02:29:41 PM »
Hello,

I took the old girl out for her first ride this year! Late I know, but shes had some issues.
Anyway, it wasn't a big run, just 50miles and noticed vibration from the foot pegs when motoring around 60mph.
When home I checked all engine / exhaust mounting bolts were secure which they were, so wondered what could be causing this. Never done it before... and wondered if a chain with a 'tight spot' could be the problem? and if so would this replacement chain from DS be ok? http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_105899/

Any help would be appreciated.

Jason

Yes, several people on here have used them and are happy with them. Modern "O" ring chains can have clearance issues on some of the older Hondas, and obviously they are a waste of money if your bike isn't used as everyday transport in all weathers. The chain from Silvers seem to last okay. Don't forget to do your sprockets as well, as there will be corresponding wear /damage to those as well, and a new chain won't last long on knackered sprockets!
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!
