Carburettor removal 550 f1
« on: November 18, 2015, 05:20:37 PM »
Can anyone give me some advice on an easy way to remove  the bank of carbs on a 550 fi , as I know it's very tight between air box & carbs , so is it best to  remove air filter etc ( battery etc) so as not to damage the rubbers between air box & carbs.

When I do it I always leave the all the rubbers attached to engine and airbox, but take filter etc out and undo airbox mounts and the box will move back slightly, but just enough, still bloody fiddly though. 20 mins to get off usually and about 90 mins to get em back on!

If you can afford it, new rubbers (carb to engine and airbox to carb) make the job a lot easier...
