Numpty Question CB550 K0

What is the thumbscrew adjuster & spring underneath the throttle grip housing for on a CB550 K0 ? Can`t see mention of it in owners manual. I guess it is to adjust the resistance of the twist grip ? Thanks for your help.

basically yes,

if you do it up enough,you can use it to set a fast idle and warm up on starting,

or,

a very basic cruise control
