Main and Side stand Springs Refitting - Help
« on: February 15, 2016, 08:50:37 AM »
Anyone any tips for refitting these springs. I think the main I can manage but the  side was a b****** to get off, it has so much tension I could hardly pull it even with a length of wire wrapped around the end to make a pulling loop (which is a trick I have used before on my Trophy)   and heavy gloves  >:( >:(

You can put a washer in between each Coil and that sometimes opens the spring up enough to pop on....then just pull washers out....works sometimes

Aha in the absence of washers I guess a pile of 2p coins would work  :)

I put the spring on first and use the stand as a lever  and put the bolt in last.
It can sometimes take a few goes and another time goes straight in.
good luck
