Help Needed for Crank case repair

HI All ,

JUst need some advice regarding a quick repair for a chain damage to a lower case on the cb 750

Is there any type of chemicals that will keep up the repair ?

Any ideas welcome

You nasty man RGP. Alloy weld it up if you have the casing parts or  K6 crank cases are easy to find.

No he isn't Honda used aluminium filled epoxy in my 69K0 engine to blank off a drilling and seen it on other engines  I once used it to make a big mould that compression moulded rubber parts at around 180° C and we made 500 pieces from it and it was still going strong afterwards. You need the right stuff though.

The damage cased by a chain on a 750 is usually a big hole that some I have fitted my fist in, plus all the hairline cracks that will weep oil after any half hearted repair.

While i agree not the perfect solution, if
done PROPERLY will last a life time.
If you are stripping the engine totally yes weld it.
I wouldn't expect to repair a hole the size of your fist either Trigg.

I think best option would be to replace crankcase .Managed to find a good priced one but just  need to check locally for registration purposes .

At the moment there is like a copper plate covering the damage which I have not yet removed to see underneath. One i take it off I will have a better view.For is that oil leaks from it .
