Out & About / Re: OUT AND ABOUT 2024« on: February 25, 2024, 09:15:00 AM »That’s a great job Chris. Cheers Steve he will be happy to know it has a new lease on life as he didn't want it to end up broken for parts. 18
Out & About / Re: OUT AND ABOUT 2024« on: February 24, 2024, 09:38:34 PM »Fantastic rebuild. The CBX550F's were real lookers and a lot more stylish than the GPZ550. The fairing gave them a race looking presence like a mini RCB. The exhaust came with the bike but needed a little work. It is not a 550 exhaust it's from a CBX400. and was a real pain to get on as the header pipes are shorter on the 400 than the 550 19

Thanks and yes John it is the 550 it's the one Steve put up for sale I think over 4 years ago and this has been the first winter without any notable health problems.
I am thinking of selling the 750f1 as it's getting a bit much when it comes to moving it about. This could become the go to bike. 20

Project Board / Re: My 750F2 project.« on: February 03, 2024, 02:14:29 PM »In defence of Ken yes sometimes he might be a little direct if he sees things that are not correct but at least he goes on to say why. He does not say stuff like "I've never had that problem" and offer no solution. Would you care to expand on the "I'm a grown man not a snowflake " 28
Project Board / Re: My 750F2 project.« on: February 03, 2024, 09:36:22 AM »just over 12mnths ago he flounced threatening to leave the forum but came back stating he would come back but be hardly posting. I bet he must have done well over 1000 posts since. I have been doing the CBX550 over winter and its nearly finished but he and his attitude is the reason I rarely post now and there will be no pics of the CBX on this forum. I know for a fact others that no longer bother with this forum for the same reason. 29
Tricks & Tips / Re: Freeing stuck brake pistons with basic tools and no mess!« on: February 02, 2024, 09:47:32 PM »Where's the warm feeling of satisfaction and achievement in that! (Whereas keeping a tenner in your wallet...now there's a fine feeling,).🙂 It comes from making what some consider a difficult problem, easy for the sake of a tenner. Now £40 he was quoting in the vid that's a different matter. 30

Just pump it out whilst at your bench without all the huffing and puffing. Save that for doing something else. When done just put it back in the drawer with all your other tools. I bet he spends more on gloves. And I am a Yorkshireman |
