Title: Clutch
Post by: brodsord on May 02, 2020, 02:05:16 PM
Hi all,
can anyone help, I’m trying to finish my clutch,
The manual says 8-10 nm on torque wrench on the 10 mm bolts on lifter plate.
My wrench is set to that yet it’s clamping the plate right to the basket.
I’ve tried doing the bolts with 7nm but it’s still doing the same.
The lifter plate is sitting inside the clutch housing 9mm from the surface and I’ve managed to chip a bit of the plate in the corner.
Am I doing something wrong or our is my wrench buggered?

The bolts only need 'nipping up' equally Graham. Yes, I know what the manual says about torquing but this is a very weak design by Honda and I did say they snap for fun. As I said before, ignore the manual. Yours will still hold though, the plate can't go anywhere when the cover is on.

Worry not Graham, yours won't be the only lifter plate with a corner missing. You're lucky, it's cracked high up on the lug on yours, they usually crack right across the middle of the bolt hole and then they can't really be used again.
