I can see chain damage and the top and bottom cases maybe welded together, see blue shite on the crank case surfaces :o

No. It's not even a decent weld and looks to be full of inclusions and does look to have run into the top case. So the engine wasn't split to do that. I don't think the cases would be hard to split though. The blue sealant from some other repair and the mixture of fasteners and its a miss from me. A lot of unknowns for £1000

;) no not likely to much money for my piggy bank i stopped buying sohc engines when they went over the two hundred quid barrier

i had the same problem once only discovered it when the final drive bearings gave out ,not a job for the faint hearted when using a grinder to split the weld them gears are almost touching the repaired area so could be a challenge :o

If it were a 69 engine then may be but this is the k1 engine not so desirable

;) and i thought it was sandcast 1576 for what hes asking for it. but on checking again its a k0 just goes to show if the price is to high nobody pays too much attention to it 8)
