CB750 / Tank badge removal
« on: June 30, 2020, 07:30:30 AM »
I’m thinking on painting my tank on my 750 f I haven’t had a good look at the badges but has anyone got any pointers before I try? Got a feeling they will be pretty stuck.

CB750 / 750 f1 alpha 41 (micron)« on: May 24, 2020, 09:58:12 AM »
Wondered if anyone knows or has a alpha 41(micron) exhaust for a 750 f1? Not sure of people views on the alpha 41 or even if you remember them ? They were very short and stubby only just exited from under the engine. I had a Saturday job there in the early 80’s and would love to get hold of one for my f1. I spent a lot of hours fitting baffles and putting them in boxes. At that time it was only the 2 stroke pipes that were known as micron. Sorry getting a bit boring now 😴

Thanks, they all look fine actually but cleaned out all the float valves think that’s where the leak may be.

That's interesting Skoti, was there any evidence of wear on the knackered ones?

Air filter is good, I’ve got a manual which will have standard jetting I’m sure?

A up everyone, I’ve sorted my electrics and done a few other jobs so been out on the cb a couple of times (travel to work and shop).
I am really impressed how well it rides, handling is good and the engine is lovely. Carburation is a bit woolly low down and feels like it could be crisper, it starts better without choke so I’m wondering if a bit rich or are they like that? It fine with a few revs and pulls very well. I’ve had the bowls off and blown all jets through didn’t look what sizes though . 12

The only wires I disconnected were those in the plastic box on the front then the problem started.

Thanks Dennis, not sure if my problems are coming from the black/brown wires but sure have them the correct way round and everything seems to test out ok.
