The Yuasa part is YB14L-A2: http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/CB_750_F2/78/picture/Battery_Yuasa/
Other makes will use the same basic number ("B14L-A2") I've never tried a gel battery so can't speak for them. 2871
CB750 / Re: Battery« on: January 17, 2011, 10:02:14 AM »
For a bike that isn't a daily rider, get a decent make (like a Yuasa for example) and invest in an Optimate!

CB500/550 / Re: Exhaust Compatibility« on: January 14, 2011, 05:16:17 PM »
The 4-1 and 4-4 are incompatible because of the footrest hangers and centre stand stop. If you can get around them then any system should fit.
One of my 500s has a custom can on a Motad header. The can was home made by the PO but I'm sure any standard can could be made to fit. You could try www.sohc4.net/forums as the guys in the 'States have far more experience of this sort of thing. Let us know how you get on. Steve 2873

Welcome Lee (I assume that it's Lee...)
The 400/4 is probably the most represented bike on here - at least among our active members, so you should get loads of help. We like pictures by the way Steve 2875

I'm a member of www.cbfownersclub.co.uk which is a new club for UK owners of DOHC 750/900 Hondas.
They have a rather nice tax disk holder: Anyone on here fancy making an SOHC one? Steve 2877

Yes.
When talking about UK models, we had the 500/4 - the USA had K0,K1,K2, but I'm not sure how they ever affected what was sold over here. We had: 550F(1) 550F2 550K3 so when I talk about the K3, I mean the 550 I went to HGB in Ruislip. 26-1-80 2879

Hi Trevor.
I bought a K3 from HGB in 1980 - chopped in my 500/4 (the one in the avatar) I still have the receipt... Welcome to the forum. Steve 2880
CB500/550 / Re: So what model IS my 500/4« on: January 06, 2011, 07:37:48 AM »
I did that with the '72 in my avatar. It also had a K3 seat and tank.
I thought the K3 looked better (at the time) and swapped a load of bits with a guy in Portsmouth who'd bought a brand new K3 and was making a cafe racer with it... |
