Title: Clutch plates
Post by: mo goldie on December 17, 2023, 12:22:16 AM
Hi Guy`s
where is the best place to get a set of the 7 Friction clutch plates for the 67`Ko Bomber and springs ?

Been looking on the net searching but come up with D/S he has two original's left and 20 + of the patten ones....... are the patten one`s any good.

Oh could not find the spring tho ?  and still looking for the rear Light len`s he has them but patten ones...if they are any good ?  ;D

cheers

Mo

I always go for EBC clutch plates Mo .. Think these are suitable but CHECK with them first if you consider buying EBC.

https://ebcbikes.com/products/ebc-motorcycle-clutch-kit-set-ck1130

The original Stanley marked rear lamp is hard to find but fitted to a few models like late CB92, CB72/77, S90 etc so a few around if you search hard enough. Probably nothing wrong with the pattern ones other than the lack of the Stranley markings.

Hi, Ash
had been waiting all day for the EBC link you gave me to get back and they did to say they do not do them for the Black bomber and they are Not EBC they said they just sele the kits but as I say Not for the Black Bomber tho >:(

so I went to Wemoto and they do the kit and the springs By EBC ...who would have thought that ha LOL.

so hope that will be ok as I have Not had a conformation Email yet............ But it did say for the `67 Black Bomer.

oh just looked again and got this :(
Non Stock Item Ordered On Request Only well looks like this might be a dud too ha :(

Oh are the TRK clutch plates any good as they have them ?

If you down load the 500K1 parts book from Ash stash there is a handwritten notation on the clutch page about using 450 plates for some reasn, which means you could use 500 ones.
Cant remember what it says but i know its there cos it was me that scanned it

or is it the CB77 305 plates will fit............got a bit confused.com ?

In all honesty i would fit the ebc plates
1 you probably wont be able to tell the different
2 How many miles are you going to actualy ride it per year
3 When you do ride are you ar all likely to ride it like a hooligan.

AND if a 500 set is cheaper i would use those as the 500 has more bhp

Hi Bryan

Well I did Not know that either way 450 to 500 and vice versa, so why did EBC say they don`t do them for the 450 B/B
unless they don`t do them for the 500 too now.

so just hope they have or can get them from the Wemoto site....... as if they can`t get them I will get the patterned ones from D/S  if i have too >:(

so watch the space as they say.

They must physicaly fit or the anotation would not be in the parts book but they may have a different design like slantedgrooves or straight, they may even work slightly different but at the end of the day as long as you have a clutch that lets you change gear and pull away does it matter

Hi all

well the clutch plates and spring turned up today and they are the right one`s and as you said Ash they were the part Number
that you said even tho the email i got said they don`t do them No more and that was from EBC...they were wrong as it was P/N
CK1130 along with the EBC 15% uprated springs, they are all fitted on after soaking them in the Engine oil for two hours so one More job to Knock off the list ha  :D

So while I am here I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy New year....... be back on soon have a good one :)
