I've bought a new 2 pin led relay for my 550 but to my surprise the one fitted to my bike is a 3 pin, I thought they were all 2 pin?

No, originals are 3 pin, modern day replacements are 2 pin. Just leave the green earth wire unattached.

Ah thanks Julie! I've said it before but electrics is not my strong point...pure witchcraft

IIRC you need to connect the remaining two wires the right way round as the terminal markings might be different.
I seem to recall having to reverse the two wires to get mine working - if its an electronic unit you can blow some units with the wrong polarity - worth checking the markings carefully.
With the 2-pin units they fit Positive & Negative earth vehicles hence the need to check.

Some of the cars still use 3 pin.
VAG (volks audi etc) relay "191" is such a beast.

Can be bought here https://www.autodoc.co.uk/maxgear/9813662 :)

Mine were marked thankfully so an easy job, my cheap LED Ebay indicators work nicely too.
