👍 that's the kiddy.
Don't look too bad apart from the seat being all squashed up. I only have a bare seat pan at the moment so wouldn't be too much of an issue if I did go down the route of a 400 tank as it would be easy enough to shorten the pan.

Well done Chris

Ok so I went to Cw classics today as its only 5 mins round the corner and had my head set straight.
My heart was trying to rule my head as I really wanted to keep that worn look the tank has even though deep down I knew it was game over.

I searched 'Honda CB Tank' on eBay earlier, no 350F's, couple of 400F's. Anybody know of a thread with pics of a 350 with a 400 tank?

Please reeducate me if I'm wrong but the limited swap choices seem to be the placement of the coils requiring the two square cut outs on the underside of the tank?
I did notice that some of the 500 & 750 tanks had similar undersides but I'm assuming that those bikes are longer and so would be the tank??

I thought I'd rather see if this can be repaired first rather than buying a "good" used one only to find that also needs repairing or throwing in the bin.

Thanks Andy I'll give them a call as work in South Woodham.

There are no tanks on eBay in the uk. Are there any other tanks that would fit with no or little messing about?

If it's just a blanking plug does the dowel need to be there? Could it be dremel'd off???

Evening all. Not been on in a while as Iv been busy.

Got some progress done on the bike. Front wheel completed and mounted, front caliper painted and fitted, the rear wheel also has the tyre on now and the rear brake linkage is sorted.

Also refurbed the clocks myself. Here's a pic of the speedo, will get another pic of them both when mounted

If it's only rotten at the rear then would be ideal for someone wanting to do a bobber conversion as all that would get cut off anyway

Misc / Open / What's needed for MOT??
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:13:45 PM »
Hey guys I'm just wondering what I do/don't need when it comes round to mot time. Being built in 1972 I'm guessing there will be a few bits that are not required?
I'm trying to sort out my worn out switchgear but I may need to replace them. If I do replace them is a kill switch needed??
If I go aftermarket and it has a hazard switch does it have to work?
Mirrors?
It'll have indicators so that's not an issue.
Thanks 👍
