Misc / Open / What's needed for MOT??
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:13:45 PM »
Hey guys I'm just wondering what I do/don't need when it comes round to mot time. Being built in 1972 I'm guessing there will be a few bits that are not required?
I'm trying to sort out my worn out switchgear but I may need to replace them. If I do replace them is a kill switch needed??
If I go aftermarket and it has a hazard switch does it have to work?
Mirrors?
It'll have indicators so that's not an issue.
Thanks 👍

When I first joined the forum I see a thread where someone had made their own dial faces and telltale surround. Now I want to read it again I can't find it and I completely forgot what it's called.

Does anybody know what I'm referring too???

CB350/400 / Switch Gear refurb help
« on: November 21, 2015, 04:38:56 PM »
I was going to replace the switch gear on the 350 because all of the buttons/switches didn't move.
We were quiet in the workshop today so thought I'd take them into work with me and see if I could revive them. After I removed half a dessert I could see what I was up against.

Horn and starter button now working but can I get replacement contact blocks for the indicators and headlamp switches? The indicator one is very worn and the headlamp one is broken.
Also can you get a replacement kill switch button?

CB350/400 / Fuel cap removal
« on: November 14, 2015, 09:31:35 PM »
Hey guys I got a replacement key from eBay a few weeks back with the numbers from the steering lock and seat lock but unfortunately it doesn't open the fuel cap. Iv sprayed, oiled, wiggled and jiggled but it doesn't even go in the lock.
Can it be removed without damage to the tank or cap? Not bothered about the lock part as I'll be replacing it with the non lock type.

I originally thought it had been laid up due to a front brake issue as it was missing but now think that they couldn't get into the tank.

Oh yer and some bugger has rounded off the Phillips screw head.

( I did you the search bar but couldn't find anything)

Just wondering what you have all decorated your man caves with?

My bike only came with one side panel and it's way to brittle from the dessert sun to be used again so mounted it above the door

The other one was bought by the wife and 'apparently' she wasn't taking the Pi$$ lol

Project Board / Arizona 350
« on: October 10, 2015, 07:13:57 PM »
Iv done a bit of work to the old girl and thought I'd post up a rebuild thread.
I'm not looking to build a show winner but a tidy bike I can use on a sunny afternoon. I will be doing as much as I can myself, not looking forward to all the polishing that's gona need doing.

Thankfully coming from the dessert there's not really any rust just lots of dirt and dust

So here's a pic of how far Iv got

CB350/400 / Seating plan revision
« on: September 16, 2015, 10:43:23 AM »
Iv always like clean lines and not a lot of clutter on my old cars so the plan for the bike was along the same lines. I intended to fit a cafe racer style seat unit allowing me to reposition the battery etc underneath the hump clearing out the central area of the frame.
BUT.... the Mrs has got all nostalgic and wants to be able to get on the back like when we first got together and go to the pub or cafe on a nice day/eve. Now I can't tell her to jog on as I need her on board when it comes to throwing money at the bike lol.

So now Iv babbled on for a bit ill get to the point.
Does anybody do a flat seat like the pic specifically for the 350? Or am I limited to making a universal one fit?
Does anybody have a pic of the universal ones fitted?

Misc / Open / My other 2 wheel fun
« on: September 13, 2015, 09:20:20 PM »
Just thought I'd share a pic of my main hobby. It's an Italian Polini minimoto with 39cc aircooled 2 stroke engine. Adjustable centrifugal clutch, single speed and 6.5" wheels. The gearing of that track would top it out at around 50mph.

Anybody else do anything for fun?

Is there a way that when I open the thread I see the latest post not the first original post. Basically seeing the thread in reverse?

This is similar to another forum I use and it can be done in account settings.

I couldn't find an events section so hope it's ok in here. There is a VIntage Japanese Motorcycle  meet on the 6th and wondered if anybody is going or has been before and whether it's worth going?
Used to be a good turn out in my Capri days. If weather is good may make the trip.

Hi everybody I'm new here obviously otherwise I wouldn't be writing this post. Anyways I'm not new to bike but haven't been on the road for several years and just picked up a freshly imported 350/4.
It's gona need a full strip down and Resto.

Iv had a cbr600f and rebuilt a Suzuki rgv from a box of bits a few years back but they had to go due to marriage and moving. Took up MiniMoto racing which I'm still doing and is great fun( not the Chinese toot)
