The K2 looking a wee bit tired…
Comments pls on the Yamiya statement wrt their K2 tanks …. “It is inspected but make sure to coat inside the tank to prevent leaking or rusting. There are some rust spots due to the hydraulic test.”
Are folk really coating the insides of their new Yamiya tanks?
Thoughts too appreciated on whether to get the existing tank / panels resprayed (all in vgc) versus purchasing this new set from Japan (and then selling the old tank / panels).
(I’m in Oz, so if any other Oz readers can recommend a QUALITY tank painter then let me know pls.)

IMO it was a mania particularly in the USA in the 80s and a massive mistake as they were poorly done and 90% do not seem to have lasted the test of time. Who knows what's coming, coating is and always was a last resort.

I personally avoid any tank with a liner added like the plague ;D
Do you have a link Simon on the Yamiya site? Sometimes things get confused in the translation.

If there are rust spots in the new tank, just do the white vinegar treatment to clean them off, rinse the inside with a bit of diesel then ready to use.
