I'm no expert i admit but

Close up of the headers.

I would imagine they are repro hm300's with single-skinned headers. Much less forgiving when you're dialling in the carbs after a restoration...

Notice the metal body K1 clocks too!

Pretty sure Pete but I'm no expert so could be wrong...To be fair I've seen OEM Honda HM341's (double skinned headers) 'blue' with poorly adjusted carbs in the past...

I didn't know they were single either.
the main difference is he has 3 coloured up and one clean.
I seem to remember if nunber one was blued the "excuse" then  was heavy breaking
and the heat coming from the disc caused it, Don't know
if true or not though.

I run a CB500-4 ,with genuine HM 323 pipes,

all 4 have blued and tinted, the plugs are a nice biscuit colour,

when I fitted,or remove the pips, they look single wall,

I have heard the lead free petrol runs hotter,???

I fitted single wall stainless down pipes to my Laverda many moons ago, and they were blue within hours--nothing to worry about. I think what this guy needs to think about is---is it only running on 3 ?!

Sorry Guys
Not ever have genuine honda exhaust systems gone blue with me.If its happened with you, you have problems not even running for hours in a garage has that happened.
That is why I hate Brit bikes cos they blue within minutes
Cheers

Never happened on one of my bikes in my ownership, but I did buy a cb750a a while back (don't ask) where the original Honda exhausts had seriously blued through a very over-lean setup. Agree with Bitsa, it's pretty hard to get an OEM double skinned header to go...
