Looks original to me and not a bad price >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1975-Honda-CB500-Four-K1-UK-model-7-134-miles-Original-Same-owner-for-44-years/154052740855

He does say “not a rebuild or restoration” and then goes on to list the extensive restored and new parts …

It does have the original tyres on it, be nice riding on those! 😳😳😳😳
-
Wish I had a spare £7k - I'd have it! (That's just like my 1972 bike)
-
Alas with the threat of redundancy I can’t even think about it, however with the time spent on SORN would the piston rings and bore not require attention before using? I guess an assessment could be done with a good camera through the spark plug holes.

I wouldn't ride or drive a vehicle with tyres that are 40 years old - dangerous in my view. We replaced all four tyres on one of our cars as they were 14 years old with 2/3rds of the tread remaining so MoT advice was to replace them.
Interestingly the Tyre Depot intentionally damaged the side walls after changing them to prevent them being re-sold - they were Pirelli Zero Rossos I was gutted.

Tyres look like Avon Roadrunners, so probably not original factory fitment.
-
Avon AM road rear tyres never had a centre line, Bridgestone did ;)
-
He sez in description TT100 tyres
-
Just looked at my original Honda CB500 sales brochure, the front tyre fitment is a Bridgestone ribbed type.
So probably not original tyres on the ebay CB500.
I have an old Roadrunner in my garage, looks just like the one on the ebay bike complete with centre line.
You can still buy them new for classic racing:-

Refer to my previous answer and thats what tt100 look like
-
Definitely old Roadrunners.

Hi Bryan,
saw your previous answer and then I checked the ebay listing details, the seller says the CB500 came to him fitted with Avon Roadrunners.

But sorry because I was mistaken in thinking that it was suggested on this forum thread that they were the original tyres fitted by the factory, which of course they are not.
All the best

It does, i was sure it said tt100 when i read it previously
-
It did say TT100. Must have been amended.
I have unpleasant memories of Roadrunners!
My fave was Michelins - PZ2 front, M45 rear.

Thanks for that, thought i was going more senile!!
