Title: Dating Proof for 1971 500K0 imported from US - easiest route?
Post by: paulbaker1954 on March 29, 2016, 10:57:38 AM
What is the best route to get proof of age dating evidence that DVLA will accept

I have a letter from Honda USA but they wont accept it because it's a copy  :'( :'(

Is joining VJMC maybe the best option

Just wondered what other options others have used

I have used the VJMC service. Very helpful chap, evidence accepted by DVLA, you don't need to be a VJMC member to use it.

I used to say Honda Direct but I believe they will only do UK models now so VJMC is probably the safest bet although they will give you the model year as against build year. If you PM me the frame number I should be able to give you a good guess from all the ones I have collected although you ought to have a month and year on the vin plate which should be on the RH side of the headstock. You could ask DVLA if they will accept the vin plate along with the copied letter BUT you would probably have to trailer the bike to an approved site (few and far between now) to have it visualy inspected
