The above mounting rubber grommets are perished at various locations on my 350k0 project. Has anyone got any decent ones I can buy please? I need 6.
DS is out of stock at the moment and want £4 odd each anyway.
Thanks in advance

Also need decent solenoid cable rubber (mounting stud) covers if anyone has any of them to sell

I wondered what those were Phil so I looked them up and they are used on loads of bikes, the 500 uses them to mount the number plate holder to the rear mudguard for instance. What's odd though is that the Cb550F, which uses the same number plate bracket isn't shown on the list as using them, which I thought was odd so I looked up what they showed as listed and they have what looks to me the be the exact same rubber but with a different part number 80101-283-000.
Have yours got dowels in the centre? The 550 part may be the same but it may be slightly thicker for better cushioning, DS has 3 of those in stock. I did find a load of them the other day but I don't know yet whether they are spares or off my rebuild, I know my number plate bracket has them missing for instance. I doubt I have 6 spare either way. I'll have a look around, it's a very common part.

Sorry Ken, should have referenced the part number to the lamp/number plate mount. Mine has the dowels in the middle

Yeah the 500 doesn't use dowels, the bolt are shouldered most of the way down to act as the dowels. I'll see what I can find Phil.
What's the solenoid part number, might be used on other models.

Solenoid part number is 35850286017 and terminal rubber cover is 32411-253-000. I can get them on special order from DS - going to put an order for engine bits next month anyway
-
The rubber cover looks to be the same used on the end of the starter motor cable, might have one of those.
Can you measure the mounting rubbers Phil, I have some that have no dowels in (most likely mine off the rear number plate bracket) and some that do have a dowel but the dowel is longer than the rubber so it sticks out a little from it. No idea where they came from but I have been stripping some USA parts so they could have come from those. How thick are they and how long is the dowel.

Im sure i bought a bag of 10 or more on ebay that looked similar, probably slightly different sizes but could be made to work. I will see if i can find them again

I don't think those fairing ones fit Roo iirc they are too small.
Pretty sure I bought some for my 400 a couple of years ago - could be mistaken holes are 6mm?

That was Bryan’s link Ted not mine buddy

According to the pictures the metal insert internal hole is quoted as 6mm Ted
-
As they were cheap I bought them - I'm sure they did not fit. Can't check as my e- bay history does not go back that far.
Might have been different ones - they were for fitting fairings. No idea where I put them - might be in my loft with my 400 left overs.
Might have been the battery box not the number plate ones. Still nagging me they were wrong - might have been a different listing.
I've been to bed a few times since 2020 when I bought them so my memory is not to be relied on.

The pictures in the advert quote a 6mm internal metal insert dimension Ted so assume with a 1mm wall to the insert, that the internal rubber dimension is 8mm ish
-
I'd say you are correct Phil, the 6mm hole is the bolt hole on the metal dowel, that usually means the internal hole in the rubber is 8mm.
They aren't as wide as the originals though. 10.8mm as opposed to 13mm, that's only around 1mm smaller each edge.
-
At the end of the day if they work the numpty who measures them and tells me they are 1/2 mm wrong sized gets my size 10 steel toecap somewhere uncompfortable, just before i bin them!

I'll have a go using those suggested by Bryan and then you've still got spare ones Ken - thanks
