I hope this isn't a daft question, but does the 3 way joint holder for the front brake union attach to the frame through the same hole as the lower part of the headlight frame?

It does on my 400 there is a a small captive nut to the left of the lower headlamp carrier frame.

Nothing to do with the website but everything to do with your browser.
Phones are really good at putting images the right way up. Some PC browsers are pretty good too.
I’m on my phone at the moment so the image looks fine to me.

Thanks for this. I had managed to try and screw the bolt into the captive nut from the wrong side, a senior moment that had me stop. Perhaps I should leave mechanics until the afternoons in my old age? ;D

IT it does my head in - after an age using MS Office 1997 I moved to Office 365 only to find it takes ages to convert an old file plus they have changed the way spreadsheet formulas work.
It stores them on the cloud when it feels like it - then I can't find it again.
Wish I had gone with Open Office as it's free.

I empathise with that feeling - theses days I have to be caffeine-d up - in the zone for headspace - then Ken posts something to cause me to reach for my brain re-set button. ;D ;D ;D

I loved XP, by hanging on to it long enough for my computer to go bang meant I'm one of those who dodged it's awful replacement the dreaded Vista! ;D

The number of times I've thought "I'll just fit a new part I've bought, it should only take 1/2 an hour" and then cocked up......
Recent favourite was replacing the steering lock as bike came with no key.
Read threads on the forum, one of which suggested drilling lock barrel and tapping so you could screw in a bolt to grab hold of.
Got the tap in nicely and then it wouldn't turn backwards.
Bike now unrideable with a 3" tap sticking out of the old lock barrel.
A few choice words, laugh at my incompetence and a pause for cup of tea.
Went back and shone a torch down the tap, I could see a sprung loaded silver pin nestling nicely in the tap groove.
Couldn't turn it forwards or backwards.
Eventually drilled another hole parallel to the tap and poked a spike down the tap groove to lift the pin.
Success, tap unscrewed.
Then just drilled a bigger hole and the b'stard eventually came out.
Second time doing something is always simpler than the first.

Never turn the desktop off, just clone the hard drive every 3 years

One of the things I just did in this part renovation was change the three headlight bracket mounting rubbers, my existing ones barely existed, I could almost crumble them away in my hand. I even started a thread the other about getting the things into those tight looking holes. You seem to be missing yours altogether, not a good idea. You can get yourself a set from Bertrum's bike bits here:

Well ain't that pretty, still a bit of rust about though. The brass dome nuts under the clocks are a nice but laborious touch. With the 'neglect' under it sorted out now, back on with the bandana, Elen insists on it! ;D

Thanks for the pointer. Just had a look and I've got the two top ones, albeit pretty cracked and hard but as you say the bottom one is long gone.
I'll replace the lot as suggested.
