Quick question; on the VT, the solid metal pipe that links the two carbs has O rings to seal it. It's not a great design because there's movement between the carbs until the aluminium airbox is bolted up to the carbs.
Anyway, bloody thing is wasting my petrol.
What's better for sealing it? Sticks like sh*t or silicon?

Have you tried new O rings?
Is it a flexible joint?
Not certain if silicon is petrol proof

Tried new O rings. It's a solid aluminium pipe with a 135° bend each end. Because the pipe isn't straight, there's a tendancy for sideways force on the joint. That's why it needs a bit of help of the sticky variety.

HYLOMAR UNIVERSAL BLUE is fuel resistant if you cant get the o rings to seal on their own. I have used it to seal the o rings on the main jets on the 350f as the carb bodies are pitted where the jets fit. Use sparingly if you have to use it.

OK, cheers
