Title: Vt250
Post by: mike the bike on March 25, 2020, 11:46:41 AM
That's the last time I've seen my petrol tank in white.  I've just dropped it off round my mate's house, who does vapour blasting.   Once that's done, it's all going black.

Standard white, but paintwork in poor condition.   Black was also standard  which is what it's going to be like.  I've got a rattle can  of 2k black, 2k lacquer,  replacement black sidepanels and mudguard.  Need to paint the seat  cowl thingy and the nose fairing. The tank stripes are going to be fun and games , I'm making them up separately out of car stripes.

Cleaned the surface rust off the silencers that I bought from Japan.  Resprayed with Screwfix black high temperature paint.

It turns out the silencers aren't off a VT250F at all,  more likely a VF400.  The brackets don't line up, so I've had to make some plates go bolt them to.  The clamps front tighten up because the diameter is too large.   I'm gonna have to make sleeves out of some stainless pipe I've got.  This job is turning into a right ball ache.  Hope the carburation isn't too far out with the wrong silencers.

I decided to sell the VT.  I found my mate has got a GPZ500S for sale going cheap so I put the VT on fleabay and some guy, who's already got a VT, decided he wants another one.  I  might have actually made a profit on it for a change.
