Anyone had a problem with the DS pattern silencers for the CB250k3?
Mine seem about 5mm too long in that when mated to the down pipes the mounting holes are 5mm further back than they should be and can not get the mounting bolts in.
They are pushed on as far as they can be onto the down pipes, so may have to trim a little off at the connector end.
Any ideas

Just had my camshaft and rockers for my cb250k3 refurbished/reground by Brendan at the Common Motor Collective in Houston Texas US. Including return postage £219 + £18 vat, cheapest price I could find, though someone will probably tell me different 😉 Great service recommended 👍 does take about month to turn around. https://www.common-motor.com/

Hi all,
Finally getting round to rebuilding the motor on my cb250K3.
Quick question, just fitted the barrels and they do not seat all the way down onto the base gasket. Have lifted up numerous times to check what could be hanging it up but can not see anything.
It’s only sitting proud about 1mm, am now thinking it’s the o rings at the bottom of the cylinders.
If that’s the case this means it won’t close up until I torque everything down, also will this effect the valve timing once set prior to torquing it all together. 🤔
Any ideas.
Cheers

Just about to rebuild the carbs on my CB250K3 1971 and found that the carb kits, Keyster KH-0120F, do not fit my carbs!
The keyster kits are the ones listed for my model and year of bike but they are clearly not right.
This makes me think I have the wrong carbs.
Can anyone confirm what carbs I should have? The ones I have are Keihin 725B.
Many thanks

Looking for a bit of advice on the oil pump for my 250k3 and cylinder studs
If you have a look at the attached photo you can see that the edge of the pump body has been worn away! Can not find any reason for this, any ideas? Also the piston and bore measure just over 19mm where as the manual states 16mm, is this the right pump?
Two of the cylinder studs in the photo are devoid of the small thicker part as shown in the parts list.
Is this correct? Was there a later mod or has the previous owner fitted the incorrect studs?
Thanks in anticipation.

Just started pulling the motor apart on my cb250k3 and looking for list of tolerance/ service limit measurements for engine components.
Anyone know where I find this info? Had a look on Ash’s list but may have missed it.
Also noticed signs of wear on the inners faces of the rotor, not major but can see where it may have been touching the rotor, is this normal? If not what causes it?
Cheers

The bike I’m restoring at the moment, cb250k3 1971, only has a stamped in chassis number on the nearside of the head stock.
Did these bikes also have a plate attached to the offside of the headstock? If so what info was on that plate and where can I source one?
Thanks
