No. I took my life in my hands and did it in 2k primer, polyester base coat and 2k clear coat.

The gold stripes are paint not vinyl graphics.

The gold was sprayed on to the primer then the stripes were masked off and the green sprayed over the top.

When the tape was removed the whole lot was clear coated.

A little late to catch all the summer rain but I've finally finished reconditioning and repainting my Honda CB350F.

I've replaced

Chain and sprockets
Swinging arm bushes
Swinging arm pivot pin
Rear spring dampers
Rear brake shoes
Rear wheel bearings

Steering head bearings
Fork legs (re-chromed)
Fork seals
Front wheel bearings
Master cylinder internals
Front caliper seals
Brake hoses
Brake pads

Regulator/rectifier
Flasher unit
Battery
Front indicators and stalks
Pattern exhausts

OEM headlamp and shell
OEM ignition switch location

and I've repainted the tank, side panels, fork shrouds and the headlamp shell.

It's not the Honda Custom Bacchus Olive. I wasn't keen on that. It's Rover British Racing Green Metallic.

Originally the headlamp shell was black but I think it looks better in the same colour as the rest of the bodywork.

CB750 / Re: Fork seal - damper bolt removal?

On my 350F no amount of tension or clamping would stop the inner damper section revolving and I ended up having to drill the Allen screw out. Fortunately I managed it without damaging the slider. It appeared to have been fitted with thread lock.

This is from the CB350F parts book.

Is this any use?

Tricks & Tips / Re: Mudguard Rust Proofing Recommendations Please

Brush off the loose rust, treat the rest with Bilt-Hamber Hydrate 80 then spray with stone chip primer.

it's as good as anything out there.

Deox-C is far more efficient than phosphoric acid at actually removing rust but if you want a protective coating on the inner surface you could always give it a swill round with a phosphating agent after removing all the rust with Deox.

POR15 Metal Prep works well.

Use Deox-C from Bilt Hamber.

Does not affect paint or any other material. Dissolves rust but leaves good steel unaffected. Non-toxic and biodegradable.

It will clean the interior of the tank down to clean steel.

That's odd.

I've just posted 4 images from Photobucket onto a forum with no problem at all.

The BB kit which retains the original coils also fires all 4 plugs at once but it doesn't seem to impact on performance at all. In fact my CB350F is noticeably smoother with the BB kit fitted.

When I bought my imported Honda CB350F it had an American after-market 4 into 4 exhaust fitted.

I have just fitted an OEM replica system so the old exhaust is now surplus to requirements.

The silencers are separate from the pipes so there is a lot more adjustability than the OEM system but, being after-market, it needs some careful fitting to avoid fouling the side stand.

There is some surface rust on the inner surfaces and a welded repair has been made to one downpipe but, as you can see from the photos, this is not normally visible.

It sounds great. I took to riding without ear plugs so that I could listen to it at high revs.

If anyone is interested I will clean it up and post some more pictures.

I would be looking for £100 or so. I can box it up if you want to arrange a courier but personal collection would be better.

I'll give it a week on this forum first then put it on eBay.

Used to be a standard fitment on older British bikes too.

An adjustable friction lock for the throttle.

Too late now I know but the Electrex World unit comes with all the correct connectors fitted and plugs straight into the OEM harness.

Here's the wiring diagram for that unit. It may help.

I have the workshop manual for my CB350F and these are the testing figures for the charging circuit.

I would imagine the figures for the 750 would be similar.

I'm not sure about the legality of a GPS based speedo in the UK.

They certainly aren't allowed in the IVA test for cars as they don't work when you're in a tunnel and such like.

I doubt if the average MOT tester will pick it up but you never know.

As regards the sensor type you just need you mount the sensor somewhere where it can detect a rotating part. I've got one on my car and it detects the 6 bolts on the drive shaft flange.

Programming is easy. All the speedo needs to know is how many pulses it will get from the sensor per wheel revolution and how far the vehicle travels during 1 complete wheel revolution.
