Title: On the road after many years of resting!
Post by: Beemer634 on June 30, 2011, 10:32:14 PM
Hi All
At last I have managed to finish my latest rebuild, '72 500/4 frame with '78 550 motor and on its first run out to get an MOT I found that 3rd gear was nowhere to be found, just a false neutral. Can anyone offer any advice?
Other than that all was well, a gentle run to the garage and back (the long way round), I had a smile all the way, not sure whether that was due to the bike being so smooth, the sunshine or just wind!
Next up is the 400/4.
Thanks in anticipation of an easy fix............I bet there isn't such a thing for this one!!
Rick

Occasionaly gears/selectors/dogs do fail, unfortunately this is a motor out bottom half off job plus some parts are not easy to get now
