Hi,
       chassis number  CB750 2085105
       Engine number  CB750 E225778Z

Had a look on the main site and seems to be a K2 with a K3 engine if I
have read it right.

Thanks trigger, that's interesting as I seem to remember him saying something
about the engine number not looking right a few years ago. I will get the numbers
and look into it a bit more I think.

Thanks but a ball park figure would help. I suppose he could just put it on
EBay and let it find its own price but would still need a reserve.

OK, I can get some pictures but probably not till next week.
I do not know the reg but he bought it from the  Motorcycle Centre
in Stockport .
I will update the post when I get some pictures.

Friend of mine has a K4 CB750 he wants to sell.
The bike is unrestored original and looks in vgc for its age.
It has a genuine four into four exhaust fitted, period Lester cast wheels,
engine guards and rack fitted.
The owner is now in his 80,s and finds it too heavy.
Any idea on the price he should ask would be appreciated.

Motad have been selling these exhaust over the last few months on E Bay, I have seen CB550 ones
a couple of times. I am guessing they are slowly working through old stock so it might be worth
ringing them if you need something.

You could just remove the drive and fit a small flat plate over the hole  using the single
 bolt to hold it in place. Mine was like that when I bought it and works fine.

I bought some carb overhaul kits off Ebay and they had the wrong needles for my F1 as there
are two different carb settings I think depending on model. I would check this first if you
have fitted a carb kit.

You do not need to SORN a vehicle manufactured before 2001. I read this in a pamphlet given to me when I received a new V5.

I do not think this is correct,, i have two bikes sorned both older than 2001.

When i asked the powder coaters about my wheels [ which were simlar to yours] they said i would have to get the old chrome removed for them to get a good finnish. When i priced up the costs of stripping the chrome , then powder coat it was just as cheap to buy a new rim.
I think yours are the same, by the time you spend money and time getting those something like you might as well bought new ones.

Drill the head off, pull the housing off , then use mole grips .  Just hope its not siezed
onto the housing though and it is the threads.
Looks like there is enough to get some Stillsons on the end still, the bolts knackered anyway.

Could the silencer have blocked causing back pressure and blowing the head gasket.
Just seems strange the head gasket and exhaust have both blown.

I always use Plusgas and as said heat.
You could drill a small hole into the tube and fill with fluid also, it would be easy to
weld up afterwards or fit a grease nipple.

I ended up buying new rims as well, i wanted tp powdercoat the originals but the powdercoater
said they were too rusty to get a decent finnish.
