thanks Steve D, im working on an old lap top which is very slow and i pressed button twice thinking it hadnt posted.
Tom 400f rear bars are ive been told passenger crash bars, i can send u a pic of them on and a pic of them off if u like ? send me ur e-mail as i have them on my phone but no way of putting them on pc at present
I will get around to these maintenance tasks over the winter like the timing chain, i was just told thats what they do "rattle" by the mot tester. The bike is what i believe is termed unmolested, its in great condition totally untouched, i intend to just give it a good old clean as the climate in Portugal is such that nothing goes rusty unless its parked by the sea, as ive had my classic mini cooper sport there (as an expensive ornament) for the past 5 years without a single spot of rust emerging !

Hi guys im a new en, currently in York, but live in Portugal and thats where i will be taking my 400/4 to when i go back in the back of my van. I bought the bike off a mate of my father in law who has owned it since 82, its a 1975, and has only clocked 6000 miles in 30 years on it, i always admired it and when he offered me first refusal i had to say yes (i will put a pic on when i get a camera linked up) a couple of questions. Is there a front brake upgrade kit for theses bikes ? ive heard you can get a kit to stop the timing chain rattle, and it came with engine bars and rear bars, which i dont like and have removed, any idea what i should put them on ebay for ????
