It would appear that they are indeed CMA wheels. A quick search on Google images shows them fitted to a number of machines, mainly Kawasaki's:

You need to change the coupler to a K type nipple adaptor. If you do a search there are plenty of options.

I think this should do the job: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lumatic-POC-1S-Push-Grease-Nipple-Connector-/132406115358?hash=item1ed404fc1e

Thanks James but at £300 a set I won't be buying them, I'll look for an alternative.

CB500/550 / Chrome tank trim

This is my first question here, so be gentle. I have searched for the answer and I'm still unsure, so here goes.

Did the 1972 500 Four have the chrome trim and did it go all the way round or just the bottom edges?
If it was fitted, is it the same profile as the seat trim or smaller?
Is it double sided and push on or single sided and stuck on?
Is it prone to cause rusting on the tank edge where water collects?

I know that the original is now discontinued and there are many alternatives out there that will do the job. I'm just trying to avoid getting the wrong size or profile. Thanks in advance.

Just joined the forum after many months of lurking and gathering information before taking the plunge. I've just bought my first classic Honda CB500 four and am looking forward to restoring it with the collective help to be found here. I'm not new to restoring Japanese classics but until today they have all been Bridgestone 2-strokes, so this is a new challenge.

The bike is a 1972 CB500 four with two owners from new showing just 8785 miles, which appears to be genuine according to the basket of old MOT's that come with it. Condition is not as good as in the pictures but everything is there and it's an honest bike, warts and all. There is a slight cam-chain rattle that may just be a tensioner adjustment, or not?

I'm going to service the bike and run it for the remainder of the summer and then get started when the winter sets in. Hopefully it will all go according to plan.
