Post by: geoffreyeprice on April 18, 2009, 07:34:26 AM
Would anyone in the Forum be able to tell me how many Ltrs of Oil to put in to my 1982 650sc Nighthawk, after I change the Filter and give her a compleate Oil change. I am thinking of useing 15/40 Mineral oil, am I doing right? my thinking is when she was new, Mineral Oil would have been used then. I
I Havent got any sort of Manual for the old Stead. Geoff.

My manual (UK, but I can't believe there's any difference betwen engine oil capacities) says 3.0 litres at oil/filter change, or 3.5 litres when completely dry (after rebuild).

Not sure about the mineral oil, but would have thought it's OK. Someone will be along to confirm.

Phil

The book sez 10 w 40 oil so 15 w 40 is OK, Any oil WITHOUT "friction inhibitors" is OK Most Diesel oils of the "Fleet" type meet Hondas original spec
