Really enjoying this new 350 Forza but just like the C125 Super Cub I got 3 years ago, the mirrors leave a lot to be desired. I extended the ones on the Cub but that wouldn't be possible on the Forza due to the design and they incorporate the indicators.
This got me thinking and I know many folk have pointed out that UK is a very small market compared with ROW and we wear bulky jackets and are generally of larger build than the folks in Thailand and the like. But surely they have to comply with Construction and Use regs in the UK? Then I found this:

Perhaps a caravan-towers extended mirror would help?
....or a rear view camera and head-up display plugged into the accesory/cigar lighter socket?

What about a small bar end mirror on the right as an extra improvement to what you have?

That sounds like quite a good idea Gareth - I'll probably explore that. It's not that I can see nothing behind but you have to tuck your elbows in to be sure of what's lurking, instead of just riding in a natural position and that split second of movement could be the difference of being safe or 'scooped up'. The mirror bodies are fixed (but can be folded in like they can on cars) the mirror glasses can be swivelled in their housings but even at the full extent of outward movement, they come up against the housings.
The master cylinders have the usual blanked off threaded holes - so something could be attached there. An otherwise very well thought out machine, let down by this one important thing.

Aside from the added width of bar end mirrors I am a fan.
I have just one on my 400 ATM on the offside it's fitted as a blind spot aid. Mine were inexpensive less than £15 for a pair.

Now now, at least you can see your elbows, remember the mirrors on Triumphs and Nortons, of course not they fell off every mile and whilst on there showed nothing of visible interest

You're right Bryan,
When I had Triumphs and Nortons (still have a Model 50 Featherbed) there didn't seem to be as many folk out to kill you by steaming past where there is little or no room. The big surprise was that the Con and Use regs were produced in 1986.

Nah, thats just the update quoted, and if you try reading c&u regs you go dolally as it contradicts itself regularly and gives exemptions like series 1 landrovers would be illegal as headlamps too far from edge and too close together but because mod wanted them they are exempt that reg

I still have the standard type mirrors in place - they do not match as the left one has a longer arm - I could not find a right hand long arm version so fitted a new DS aftermarket part. The end of the right hand throttle grip was already cut out so fitted one of the bar end mirrors to block up the hole - it's a bonus as it definitely helps my view - I no longer need to turn my elbows in all the time!
Oh and I liked the gold coloured bits.

I’ve removed the standard mirrors as all I could see was my arms and replaced with bar enders.
100% improvement.
