I used to stay at a Hotel in Benderloch and also one at the Falls or Lora in the early 1990's, when I was doing work on an electronic monitoring system at Foster Yeoman Quarry at Glensanda, which wasn't accessible by road, only by ferry. Almost everything on site was from RS Components as I remember. A beautiful part of the world and I also used to enjoy eating haggis at McTavish's Kitchen in Oban. :D

Always remember going through a place called ArdLui   ...had visions of a tough Italian/Scottish bruiser.  ;D

I’m on a cruise around Iceland (not on my bike).

I’ve seen two bikes in 10 days. Not really surprising given the climate and remoteness.

However, today we are in the fishing town of Vestmannaeyjar on the island of Heimar.

Wandering up a random backstreet I saw a Black Bomber on the back of a trailer, so wandered over to say hello.

Inside I found the Drullusokkar Motorcycle Club.

And this

The owner proudly showed me his David Silver mug and catalogue from a few years back when he visited the UK.

He’s on FB (but I’m not), so go and give him a

Mine used to do that in third gear Mick.

It was a worn central dog in the gearbox.

Well I’ve got the room for one but it’s a little hard to justify at the moment. I can see the advantages, I’ll almost certainly get one at some point.

Looking really good and I agree those pipes look good.

Would love a bike lift like that, maybe next year...

If you have the room and the funds a bike ramp does make life a lot easier - I was able to do lots of work sat on a stool or chair - much easier on my back. Being able to have my frame on the ramp albeit with a supplementary scissor stand meant I could fit the engine with no wheels fitted using the centre stand and staps to keep it stable. Mine has a removable panel at the rear section to make wheel removal easier.

Hardest job I had was getting the ramp out of the packing case and up my slightly sloping driveway into the garage - they are quite heavy.

Well done Ted  :). Crack open the bubbly whilst you trawl Ebay for that CB750 Project you've always promised yourself (or a Maico  ;))
Happiness is turning on the fuel and the carbs don't flood  :).
Post some photos of the complete bike wearing it's newly painted suit 8)

Sadly the 750 is far too heavy for me - I've pretty much decided the Maicoletta idea will be too much pain due to the lack of parts.

I'll never say never but - this 500 might be my last build - if I am tempted it will be something smaller or even another 400 at a push.  Space issues would mean my existing 400 would have to go. Not sure I could handle the separation it would be like getting a divorce.
