What I meant was the metzellers handle way better than originals

If you want best handling use dunlop TT100's, If you want period look with good handling ME11 and ME77 Matzelers

Thank I will go for those.
How wide is your rear tire?

I would like them to look like they are from the some time era as the bike, mine are way to modern looking.

Metzellers look closest to originals but handle better

Don't they handle good? Or did misunderstand you?
Could you post a few pics? Looks like we identical bikes :-)

Hi which tires would you recommend for my 76 550. They should somehow period correct as the ones I have in it now are to modern looking. Also good handling is preferred.
Also how wide a rear tire can I fit? I think it's a bit skinny the one I run now.

I tried to reroute the cables that helped but I'm still not satisfied, so I ordered a set of correct cables. I think my clutch cable might also have a little problem with the lower bars.

I have now changed the bars for a euro style. Only problem is that the gas cables seems to be to long so it doesn't let go of the gas quite as good as I want it. Any ideas besides changing the cables?

Peter - I'd be interested in your US bars for one of my 550's. I have a brand new set of the lower style DSS repro bars if you fancy a straight swap?

Thanks for the offer, but think I'll keep the og bars until I'm sure which I want to keep on the bike.

I bought this 3months ago.
Just under 11.000miles from new, and only 1000miles since 1987.
It was quite nice when I bought it, but the tank was faded as I can see many candy garnet brown are, I got the tank and sides painted, but kept the original decals.
The exhausts had a few holes, I changed the 2 right ones, and the left ones were welded.
Other than that I only gave it a good cleaning/polish and now I'm just waiting for the sprig so I can get it mot'ed and on the road.
