Thanks all for the quick replies and suggestions so far.
The main jet is the original but yes I did replace the float valve and idle jet from a new kit. Initially I could not get to clear (see the light) the small hole running through the pin (even after days of soaking) so thought to replace from a kit and did the float valve too. Maybe I should put the originals back in (did finally manage to clear the idle jet yesterday ). Maybe time to invest in a small ultrasonic cleaner...I'll start to drop the Christmas present hints at home....
On the adjustment side, the seam line as a guide seems a good starting point and of course also a great shout with simulating with actual fuel at 24mm. Ill give that a shot and let you know !
