gomen'nasai.

It is a white bye of CB550FOUR. How about an object? Seven years ago, in this state, I thought to the decoration of the shop and purchased it, but after purchasing, nothing has been done, it has reached the present. The parts of the white bike are not readily available, and it is a fact that I gave up. There is around the front brake. The degree is the body disassembly, the frame is colored, and it is beautiful The spokes have been changed back and forth and are beautiful. The muffler is also beautiful. The engine is stuck and there is no kick. It is such a state, but if you can see who can continue, please. If possible, please check the current car once. I can not send it to anyone who can come to pick me up. Shipping is 225 yen, but I'm sorry I'm sorry.

Yea, right.

Humour / Police
« on: July 10, 2019, 06:38:06 PM »
An undercover cop called at my farm in rural Dorset yesterday evening...
“I need to inspect your farm for illegally grown drugs”, he said.

“By all means officer, just don’t go in that field over there”, I replied.

The cop exploded, saying “Do you know who the #@%$ I am?! I have the authority of the government with me!”, he shouted before pulling a badge out of his back pocket, “Do you see this fucking badge?! This badge means I can do what I want and I’ll go wherever the #@%$ I want, have I made myself clear?!”

I nodded politely, apologised, and went about my chores. A short while later, I hear loud screams, looked up and saw the cop running for his life being chased by my angry bull. With each step, the bull was gaining ground and he seemed sure to be gored before he reached safety. The officer looked terrified and continued to run for his life.

I threw down my tools, immediately ran to the edge of the fence and shouted at the top of my lungs,

“Your badge, show him your fucking badge!”

Other Bikes / 250
« on: June 05, 2019, 07:25:39 AM »
I seem to have bought another bike.  I bid the starting price, not thinking I'd have a chance and no one else wanted it. Not an SOHC or a 4 but it is a Honda.

I'm looking at getting a rat bike to travel to work, as I don't want to ride the 400four in claggy weather
Has anyone got anything to say about a CB250 Nighthawk?

CB350/400 / Seat studs
« on: April 23, 2019, 12:43:09 PM »
I replaced my rusted through seat with a pattern one, which didn't have the seat studs.  Bought 13 studs which are now starting to rust.  Is there anyone who can supply stainless ones?  It would be easy enough for a skilled turnerist to convert an M8 bolt.
I keep asking Santa for a lathe but...

CB350/400 / Shock Absorbers
« on: April 07, 2019, 07:37:52 PM »
While I was tarting up the bike and eradicating the winter crud, I was looking at the shocks.
Humph, I thought, those shocks let the bike down a bit.  The tops were rusty and need of repainting.   After a minute of head scratching while I polished off the coffee and Hobnob that Mrs Thebike provided, I had the idea of compressing the springs with large tie wraps.
It worked brilliantly.   After a quick spray they look like new again.

Not happy right now.  I'm cleaning up the bike ready for the Llanishen show in Cardiff, bought some Gunk,   jet washing the stuff off when my side panel decal disintegrated. I just hope classicreproductiondecals can get a replacement to me by Friday.

CB350/400 / Rear mudguard
« on: October 21, 2018, 04:39:03 PM »
If anyone is wondering if the £89. 95remanufactured mudguards on ebay are any good, I bought one and they are worth every penny.
A good dose of underseal in all the nooks and crannies will help it last.

Has anyone else bought from Bitz for Bikes on ebay?
I ordered a clutch cable over a week ago and they haven't dispatched it yet.  I told them if it isn't in the post today they can keep it.

Took the BMW for its MOT today.  The engine is really clattery with the vibrations being felt through the bars.  It burns oil and it handles like a pogo stick due to a worn monoshock.  Despite a few faults it scraped through.  It's also a heavy old beast to manoeuvre, which doesn't do my dodgy back any good.
After some haggling with the MOT bloke about the price, I've finally reached the decision to part with it.  At least it won't be in the way when I  get the 400four out of the shed.

CB350/400 / LED console lights upgrade - tutorial
« on: April 22, 2018, 11:56:22 AM »
After one of my console lights died, I decided to upgrade them to LED as they weren't very bright anyway.  I looked for a led sbc bulb but couldn't find anything suitable.  I decided to buy some LEDs and upgrade the existing bulbs.
For those that are new to electronics,
Connecting an LED across will make it glow very bright for a very short time and it wont ever do it again.  It'll be buggered.
To prevent this it needs a series resistor.  To spare you the Ohm's law calculations, a 470 ohm resistor will limit the current to an acceptable 20mA or so.
I decided to use 10mm high bright LEDs, available in red, green, blue and yellow.  I bought these from eBay for about a quid each.
Using the photos as a guide, it's a simple matter to break the existing glass bulb, leaving the end cap.
Cut the long leg of the LED to about 4mm.
Solder the resistor to it.
Feed the resistor leg through the hole in the bulb cap.
solder the resistor leg to the end contact and the other LED leg to the side of the bulb.
After refitting the LEDs onto the bike, It makes a big difference, especially in daylight.

Who was it that wanted a 400four sump.  At the time someone asked it was in the middle of a hurricane and I couldn't be bothered to look.
