My eldest son is the Ops and Fin Mgr for the Croydon M&S and is currently working ridiculously long and unsocial hours leading up to Christmas. He called us call at 2:30am yesterday (never a good sign) to say that some lowlife scum had tourched his car in the NCP next to his store and several other cars nearby having first removed the number plates for trophies no doubt. The staff at the store were evacuated because of the smoke, so he went to investigate only to find it was his car that had been set alight!
Luckily the police caught the bastards and suspect this is some kind of gang initiation. I'd like 5 minutes alone in a room with them, one at a time!
Cheers, Andrew

That is terrible Andrew 😡😡😡
-
Bastards! I'm with you Andrew.
-
Fcuking bastards, I hope he goes down for that. What car was it?
-
Thanks folks, he's gutted but still back working today - Guildford to Croydon by train ain't much fun. He's waiting for an insurance hire car and the write off valuation
It was an 09 Audi A3 Mike, and was a great reliable runner. He'll probably get another.

I am losing faith in humanity when I hear about decent people treated like that - too liberal a society were the rights of individuals (the low life) out weigh the rights of society as a whole (ie, they will probably get a suspended sentence due to they're upbringing). Make them break rocks 12 hours a day for 3 months - they would never chance doing something like that again! (it would never happen due to our nandy pandy society)
Anyway, rant over - very sorry to hear this

Andrew. Gutted for your lad. Don't start the beating until I get there, I want to get a kick in as well. Should I bring pick axe handles and hob nail boots?

Oh dear, sorry about that Andrew and on particular for your son. I was born and brought up in Croydon until 11 years old. I'm still a Palace fan but whenever I go back over there my heart drops at the area it has become from the one I remember in the late 60`s and early 70`s.
I sincerely hope he goes down but you know what will happen, a small fine he won't pay and 20 hours community service where he will spend his time meeting other lowlife (if he bothers to turn up for it!).
Thank your son from me for all the hard work he does at this time of year for probably little reward.

Bastards. Your son should get to choose the punishment, locked in a burning car sounds about right.
Which reminds me - I shouldn't laugh, but...

Thank you all for the words of support. I'll stop short of what punishment I would like to personally mete out - thankfully those days are behind me. Both my lads work extremely hard and long hours to better themselves and for some little scrotes to come along and do this makes my blood boil, and that's not good for me. Thankfully the police caught them and I have to believe in letting the law take the right course. That said, anything short of cutting their hands off is not enough........ In reality, it's more likely to be a slap on the wrist, a small fine (but they won't have jobs so can't pay anyway) and/or community service.
In the meantime, we have decided to fund his replacement car as it may well be some time before the insurance company pay out, but at least they've given him a hire car for two weeks.
Have a great Christmas folks and let's hope 2020 is a better year for us all.
Cheers, Andrew
