Title: Rear brake retaining spring.
Post by: Dolomite_ on January 05, 2020, 04:35:37 PM
I've referenced some pictures and It appears that I have the retaining spring next to the rear brake lever in the right place but there still seems to be quite a bit of play in the brake lever. The adjuster nut on the wheel end is compressing the spring that end quite a lot and if I keep turning the nut to take out the play it will be fully compressed.

Could anyone upload some pictures of the 2 springs so I can compare?

Are you sure the brake lever arm is in the correct position on the splines into the drum.

Also to add to the above, have you got the rear brake adjuster rod in the correct position at the angle part at the front? I will take a photo in a minute.

That's a piece or rubber on the end of the spring, so me frame doesn't get scratched 😊😊😊
