I've got an Italian Mold Lab kit sitting on the shelf here Ash, I'm intending fitting it to my 500K1, just haven't got around to it yet, it's on the list of things for me to do 🙄🙄🙄. It looks a great kit and those I know that have fitted it are very happy with it.

Wear limit spec is 70mm. Does anyone know what this measurement is with a brand new chain?

If you place a primary chain upright and the top row sags to contact with the bottom row the chain is finished. As to how close you'll let it come to that I guess is up to you.
George, that only works on Hyvo primaries, like the 400/500/550's. 750 chains are different, they are not Hyvo, they are a lot thinner and there are 2 of them, side by side.

The dowels aren't locked to either part Mike, they are totally removable. It's just the corrosion that's making them feel locked at the moment.

2 solid dowels there, you can see the top of them, soak with penetrating oil and leave it with overnight. If still stuck, gentle diffused heat will help. Don't forget to remove the all the tappets before trying to remove the rocker cover.

Nope - no washer on the one I removed. Spring, yes. Washer, nope.
A lot of owners throw the washer out with the old filter, over the padt 3 weeks, I've sold 15 of them from my Ebay page 😂😂😂

I'm with you on this Ash I'm a Leftie.
Blimey, it's going political ....what if someone is centrist  :-\  I'm politically mobile myself so I don't really give a hoot which way around it is from that viewpoint!  ;D
Agree George, as long as its done up tight, that's all that matters really.

Triggers view on it is that the nut should be on right, for 2 reasons. If you need to remive the wheel with the on board tool kit, you would put your foot on the spanner to give extra pressure to undo the nut. If it was on the left, you would have to pull up on the spanner. And, if it was on the right and you are pulling up on the spanner, there is a risk that the bike could roll forward off of the centre stand.

To be honest, I've seen them both sides and have had my own 400's on both sides. I don't n't think it makes a huge amount of difference though. If I had a puncture, I'd walk away and leave the bike, there's no way I'm taking a wheel off by the side of the road. The practical side of my head says right, the purist side of my head says left.

100% left. Why anyone would even consider putting on the right is beyond me.

Cash is still King in Lincolnshire. Yes, a majority of places take cards but there are some, including pubs, restraunts, butchers etc that will only accept cash or cheque. I don't blame them either. Some of the places that take cards have signs up saying 'cash is our preferred method of payment'. Most of these are independent businesses and not the multi nationals
