They'll oxidise quickly if you don't paint them (or polish them regularly)

One or two of the guys on here have done good jobs with Halfords-type aluminium paint (I used it on my Sprint foothangers and it matched the original alloy nicely)

(K=Kariyo)

I wrote a FAQ on this once (a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away: sohc4.net...)

He'll make you some if you ask him. He generally charges cost plus a $ for the site.

His real name is Mark Paris mgparis@concentric.net

I'd be interested in the details of such a guy in that part of Kent.

It's 6am in dark and frozen Wokingham. -6 degrees outside.
I'm going to Warwick today for a meeting. 210 miles round trip.

I go every month and have always gone on my bike as negotiating the morning rush on the M40 is far easier.

Today I'll defrost the car I think and leave half an hour earlier.

There's the first test vs South Africa on the radio from 0830 so motorway traffic doesn't faze me (!)

The drain bolt (and washer) are at the lowest point of the sump, facing the front. The two alloy covers are just oil gallery covers (I think) - they look like small tappet covers.

Here are a couple of scans from the parts book. If you'd like the whole thing in pdf, let me know.

Always a worry posting pics from someone else's photobucket account (assume it's not your account!)

You should/could have saved the picture and posted it directly - that way it will always be here. We see a lot of this on the old posts  :(

Only about 6/7 but I have a barn with another 20-odd that I look after for a mate. He's the one with the K0 and the various cafe racers (Rickman, Seeley, Phil Read Rep etc)

The 550 is his actually, but I get tired of typing "here's one that belongs to a mate of mine"  :D

Is that so the Americans could check the gearchange by leaning over and taking a long look?   8)

You could try www.allbikeengineering.co.uk in Greenwich.

I don't know whether they'd undertake work on an old bike - ask them.

They specialise in suspension and brakes (they did the discs on my Triumph Trophy). Even if they won't/can't do headwork, they are bound to be able to recommend someone in the area.
