CB750 / Probably last ride this year
« on: August 24, 2014, 06:01:03 PM »
Great ride today around Kent and E Sussex, just short of 500 miles since re build.
With fuel above reserve every thing is great BUT, and i have spoken about this before,
as soon as the fuel reaches reserve she cuts out on the two cylinders fed by the front fuel pipe
from the tap.
the rear pipe feeds straight down and the front pipe does a right angle bend within the tap,
so least resistance /easiest flow is straight down so that's the way the fuel seems to want to go,i'm totally
puzzled by this and can see no answer except pass on £50 to DS for a new tap.
any ideas guys?

CB750 / Exhaust life expectency
« on: July 08, 2014, 07:03:53 AM »
Hi Guys
When i got my 750 last year the guy had owned it from new and had fitted a motad and had new 4 pipes hanging on his garage wall insisting he wouldn't put them on as they only last a year. I would think that would depend on only doing short rides .winter salt etc.
What experiences have you had on exhausts? can i expect to give DS a load of money in a couple of years.?

CB750 / Help ok hold the ride
« on: July 04, 2014, 07:48:53 PM »
Slight hold on last post. I ran a short ride night before last and limped home on 1 and 2 cylinder.
Traced problem to no fuel coming from the Tap tube feeding 3 and 4., Tank off Tap off clean everything
blow out everything, put on new fuel pipes,(in case a spider was left in the original pipes).
Ran ok ,only in drive way,but of course bowls were full, same problem tonight only 1 and 2 cold ,i had switched the pipes on the tap..
Just taken tank off again ,this time put tap on reserve and fuel isn't coming out of the front pipe,if i put my finger over the back one with fuel coming out fuel then flows from the front pipe si it isn't blocked just seems to be some sort of vacuum being formed.
If no one has any idea it looks like DS will be getting another £50.
Cheers Rich :-[

Not really, Nearly finished the restoration, just need the wheels and paint back.
Got the urge to get her running again so pinched the tank from my BSA ,
perfect, starts and runs great ,well on the bench anyway.
Min 3 weeks for wheels and paint next weekend.
Desperate for a ride now.
A huge thanks  to Bitsa for his vast amount of help with this project,
my quickest at 6 months.
