Hi Chaps.
Does anyone know if there are seperate part numbers for the rubber covers covering the knuckles on the gear change lever? Mine have perished but can't seem to find part numbers.
Ta in advance

Hi Julie,
Nip down the bank, organise a small mortgage (for £26) & go here...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB400F-400-Four-400-4-gear-lever-linkage-dust-boot-new-oem-/291264361816?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43d0b57558
(If the link's not working its 'Bertrums Bike Bits)
Otherwise try Steve Cooper I guess .... he'll likely have some second hand.

Good luck!

Don't go without... the (worn) linkage will set you back more...

Just seen that's for a pair, still not paying that though. But it would suggest there is a part number possibly
-
Hi Julie
My Yam xjr1300 had boots on the linkage might make a substitute cant remember if bigger though and could not find a part number either for 400/f
Cheers

Hi,
Be careful on some after market "rubber" items, I reverted to an original battery strap when an after market one rotted in four months without leaving the garage!----Ken
-
I would prefer genuine if I could find them at a sensible price. I think I will look at other bike's gear change levers and see if I can find anything similar, I don't need them urgently

You will have to match them to a modern bike. Pop along to one of those smart show rooms and match it to one of the bikes on display.

How much :o
Iv just bought a new rear hub, bearings & ABS sensor for £29 for my car.

Still available..... Fits a few models
Part number is 24724422000 at £4.50 each inc vat from DSS or CMSNL probably
-
DSS are temporarily out of stock..... I bought mine from them a couple of years ago.
£26 is priced to con the unwary !
Was lucky enough to get a NOS lever from Guvnors Bridge Motorcycles at the time for £30... Bargain

Iv'e emailed that Bertrum guy before about extortionate prices (he's near me). He has a habit of not having the part in stock so he puts a silly price on it so that nobody will bid (well that was his excuse last time). Follow that logic if you can.
I would just wait for DS to get them in stock. Their price seems reasonable and they are Genuine Honda parts.

If you go on this link you can download a parts list. Using the parts numbers will make ordering from DSS and searching for parts easier.

BTW. I've just looked at the parts list and it doesn't seem to be listed.

You will find that most of that parts list has been superseded.

I'm still using the same parts list to look at parts on DS and most of them are still the same. DS to show if the part has been superseded. But in this case there is no part number for the rubbers, which is what I started this post about originally I think

So no point in a part number ;D
Also be very careful with superseded numbers as you may think you will get the part you ordered. I had a package of 600 different parts come in from Japan today and 97 have been superseded to the wrong part.

Classic Spares Recycling uses the ones from Honda Super Dreams and the DOHC 750 and 900 on their refurbed gear levers, because a mate of mine bought one off of them and asked where he could get spares if he needed them. Apparently they are the exact same part.
-
Yer, we know bikepusher. Bitsa's best mate ;D ;D ;D
