Title: UK,K2 in original condition my ar*e !
Post by: Trigger on June 30, 2016, 10:10:13 PM
Why do people put ads on fleabay that bikes are Original condition, when clearly they are not >>http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201613786483?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Wrong front indicator stems, grab rail, forks, engine (at least the head) and the list goes on  >:(

I could start a thread on people who have bikes to the wrong spec >> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB750-K2-1975-Gold-Candy-/112083639328?hash=item1a18b49c20:g:ZpgAAOSwyLlXpMRG

Being serious Trig, that could be a great idea! It would be useful for anyone "lurking" on the sidelines that wants to buy a bike, but doesn't want to get stitched up, or can buy it with the knowledge of what's wrong with it and get the price down accordingly!

Can I start... :) :) :) :) :)

My K2 has (well will have)
Shortened dohc swinging arm and needle bearings.
An F1 Engine.
K7 Headers and probably Gold star style silencers.
Front hub machined for Suzuki discs, and twin twin pot calipers.
Dohc forks with the webs machined off and gaters.
Painted headlamp and ears.
Hump back seat.
Disc rear brake.
I'll not go on I'll have to leave something for you to spot  :) :) :) :)

Well, that is how knock the price on them ;D
It does wind me up that some poor soul is buying a bike that is not what it seems or what it advertised as. I do have the habit of contacting sellers and tell them that it has the wrong seat cover etc. The last reply was: I bought the seat off DSS and they list it for a K2.

Yes Pete, sounds great but, you would not advertise it as original ;)

My 911 came with it back in 1985. It scares me that it's a lot to go wrong, but but it never does.

It's air (& oil) cooled. If you put low grade petrol in, because it's all you can buy to get you home, it knows, knocks the timing back if it starts to pink (it has 10:5 to 1 compression! ) and runs flat until you can get some super unleaded again.

Aproaching Dieppe, late for a ferry, we were running dangerously low on fuel, though I had 5L under the bonnet. Instead of cutting dead when she ran out, like most cars I've had, it did a wonderful thing to get us off the toll road and onto a lay by to top up - it just ran really flat for a few Km, like it was eking out the last litres.

I have an 1984 911 (carrera 3.2). The only electric part that went wrong in 17 years is the sensor for the electronic heating.
