Title: More on Locks - Tank Flap
Post by: r1_pete on April 05, 2012, 09:11:59 PM
Does anyone know of a supplier for F2 tank flap locks? I suspect all the flaps have the same locks.

Or does anyone have one spare & for sale, key not vital, I have a tame locksmith..

Cheers.

Pete

Hah!

Sorry can't help, but reminds me of the mid-80's...

The key from my Ford Escort would open the filler cap on my K3...

I think anything that fits opens them.
I need one as well if anyone comes across one. :(

sadly what Steve says is correct, you can open them with a yale front door key as well, they were never more than a deterrent to casual petrol thieves :o  I'll have a rummage in the shed over the weekend, I'm fairly sure I have at least one spare on an old leaky tank

Thanks, I'm not worried about lockability (is that a word?) I don't have one at all and need something to hold the flap down, I would probably get the tumblers removed anyway so as to be sure the key for the aftermarket igniton lock will open it.
Cheers.
Pete.
