Title: Cam cover 'surprise'
Post by: r1_pete on May 30, 2012, 11:30:30 AM
Started work on my engine this week, and noticed there is no tachometer drive on the cam cover, the internal casings for the drive gear etc are there, but, the outside of the cover is not machined to take the cable, it is just a rounded off 'blob'.

Did Honda make a model of CB750 with an electronic tacho, or have I got something odd?

Cheers.

Pete.

Or maybe they did one without a tacho?

What about a Police bike?

Could be, its a pre F model engine number, with a 410 head.

You have something "odd"

Either an engine with the cover from an auto...

... or ...

(have you looked closely at the rest of the engine?)
