Title: F1 F2 Barrel to head dowels.
Post by: r1_pete on July 25, 2015, 04:44:52 PM
I'm in the process of building 2 engines, a 392 and a 410.

The 392 F1 has 8 dowels with rubber collars 4 each between 1 & 2 and 3 & 4, easy.

The 410 parts book only shows 4 dowels, do these go on the inner or outer studs, I can't make it out from the drawings, I'm guessing its something to do with the single oil drains on the 410.

Cheers.

Pete.

It does mention in Haynes and Cycleserve manuals that the F2 changes included reduction in the number of cyl head dowels and rubber sleeves from 8 to 4. So the F1 engine should have 8, and the F2 should have 4:-D

That is correct for the 410. I would check the oil drain to make sure, just in case it has had a change before.

These might help for the F2
