That's not the worst part.... he sprayed it there too :P

To us guys that frame's a work of art probably itself worth a grand. No one would complain if you hung a 1k work of art on the wall or ceiling. Compared with the sh*te the likes of Tracy Emin calls art then your 'work of art' justifies hanging from the ceiling of my house any day Pete. Your wife's probably like mine ... she gave up years ago on complaining about bike related stuff as she knows I will never change. Just uses it as 'play' script fodder. ;D

What a nice looking chandelier you have Pete ;)
-
That made me laugh Pete, you know when you start putting in more joists it's getting really bad.
You're so right Ash about art, there is such a load of rubbish hoiked around as if it has some value. I hate those "sculptures" made up out of old bits of machine parts held together with pigeon-shite welding and sold to people as creative.
I saw some old squashed air-con trunking that somebody had got out of a skip and hung from the ceiling with wire in the Tate modern gallery last year, which they said was art!
I think proper welding is pure art, it has form/function and looks fabulous. Thinking of things like Formula 1 exhausts as an example.
Bit soap-boxy there, sorry for that.

Inspirational. I thought I was out of room and would have to sell a few projects, or build another shed.
-
I just got "Don't even go there" from Linda ;D ;D
-
my wife knows about the 5 bikes I have in the shed
she has not a clue about the srx600 I have in the attic
i was looking recently there is alot of room under the kids beds lol ;D

My wife instuted a strict 1 in 1 out policy at 12 bikes, she doesn't know about the rest. To be honest I don't actually know how many I have without thinking hard about it. I try to claim it is only 6 bikes, and a few spares, just some of the spare parts have log books and frames. I will concede the BMWs are superfluous.

I share the bedroom with a box of HM341's trouble is I wake up next to a box that resembles a coffin.
Guy Martin bought a bike purely because he fell in love with the welds on it.

Mick, those HM341's can share my bedroom if you want ;)
-
Some of the welds on classic era jap bikes can be shocking, I briefly had a gp100 from a scrapper. Close examination showed it had such bad undercut in the welds the rear torqe arm had pulled off it's mount to the swing arm - probably weakened by rust admittedly. Suffice it to say it wound up in the scrap pile.

The welding on my Rickmans is an absolute joy to look at, the welding on my sandcast is the worst i have seen on a motorbike made in a factory

I don't even want to think about what you would do to virgin pipes :o
-
Mick, send them to me and i will send you a video of them with my HM323's.
-
You've caused me to draw a blank and not for the first time.

This problem of storing bikes is easily sorted.... though the thread will need renaming...
"Where to stash the spouse"
Simples....
-
Right that is the bikes sorted, now where can I stash a few spare landrovers?

Can just imagine it on SOOC. '99 major differences in the welding spatter pattern on CB750 Sandcast frames'. Then you will get a new reply such as 'On my early VIN 2xx I am convinced that the welding spatter close to the head-stock was deliberately deposited in a ' Yin and Yang' pattern at the factory, to denote the end of the final shift on the 1st ever day of production in 1969' ;D

And you call me an anorak' Talking of anoraks my son just bought one and got annoyed when I asked him if it was from Liam Gallagher's 'Designer Range' outlet. Want to borrow it so I can walk around with a swaggerer with two finger up , saying 'What you looking at F...ing A...hole ::) to everyone who calls me an anorak.
Cheers ... Ash
