Title: CB750 Carb body - desparately seeking
Post by: philward on March 07, 2017, 07:04:10 PM
Now that I have stripped the set of carbs I bought last year for the CR750 project, I've discovered that no 4 carb is damaged (looks like they have been dropped) - the float bowl joint lip - on the main body is chipped. The mouth of the airfilter opening is also bashed. Before I go and buy a set of carbs just to use one carb body, has anybody got a spare they can sell me? Its just the body I need,
Phil

I know it would seal on the rubber seal (lip is to locate seal) - but the lip is visible on and as the rest of the carbs will be visibly like new (all re-plated/polished), just wanted to replace while they are in a milion bits - just wanted it 100% Graham

I got the carb from Rich today (Thanks Mate) - some slight differences that I need to see if they make a difference.
First the brass insert that the needle slides into (see CSML link and picture) sticks up higher than my carb - how do I get this out so I can change them over? http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k6-four-france_model14385/needle-setjet_16012392004/#.WMKgAjuLTIU
I guess it taps out but I have tried and it seems solid (unless I'm tapping from the wrong way)
Second, when looking at the roof of the float chamber, there are 2 holes - on the repacement carb, one with a brass reducer (like a jet) and one without - see pics. My original has no brass reducer in just the 2 holes. My other carbs (1,2,3 carbs) have one reducer - so it may be somehow its fell out - or No 4 carb may not have a reducer on that model/carb run (I bought them of ebay so don't know what model there off - the CR Rep has been built from parts starting with a K2 frame I had)
Carb markings are different - mine are '064A ANH' and replacement is '657A LC1'
Once again, any help much appreciated.

You take the rubber duck and grab it by the neck, turning it towards the left  ;D ;D ;D

I think that will confuse everybody except you and me Graham!  :)
Sorted this now (Thanks again to Graham) - the needle 'guide' drifts out from the top - I tried it from the bottom.
Second question doesn't matter now as I can now use the carb that Rich provided

Carbs nearly done - its amazing what a bit of zinc plating and elbow grease does (and a few spares from forum members!) can do!
